When you think of safe drinking water in India, ZeroB is a name that has earned trust over four decades. Behind the brand’s remarkable surge stands Yogesh Bajpai, CEO of ZeroB, the flagship water purification brand of Ion Exchange (India) Ltd. His leadership has turned a legacy brand into one of the fastest-growing names in India’s water purification industry.
A Full-Circle Journey
Yogesh Bajpai’s connection with water runs deeper than most CEOs. He began his career in 1988 at Eureka Forbes, selling vacuum cleaners door to door across Indore, Bhopal, and Dehradun. He received numerous awards and recognitions for his excellence in sales during his early career.
Over the next three decades, he built deep expertise in sales, distribution, and customer experience through senior leadership roles at Reliance Telecom, Max New York Life, and Tata DOCOMO. Then, in September 2018, his career came full circle. He returned to the water industry, this time to lead ZeroB. The salesman who once carried vacuum cleaners to doorsteps now leads one of India’s most trusted water purification brands.
ZeroB’s Brand Identity Gets a New FaceÂ
ZeroB’s brand journey took a bold new step with the announcement of Milind Soman as Brand Ambassador. A celebrated fitness icon and ultramarathon runner, Milind represents the same commitment to clean, healthy living that ZeroB has championed for 40 years. For a brand built on trust and wellness, the association speaks for itself.Â
The Turnaround: A Growth Story Written in Numbers
The clearest proof of CEO Mr. Yogesh Bajpai’s leadership is what happened after he took charge of ZeroB’s Consumer, Home, and Commercial Water Solutions business.
From ₹54 crore to ₹400 crore, and counting. Under his leadership, ZeroB scaled its turnover from around ₹54 crore to ₹400 crore, and is now targeting the ₹500 crore milestone.Â
From loss-making to profitable. Even more striking than the topline growth is the turnaround. He converted a loss-making business into a profitable one in a span of a couple of years, without any external funding. In an industry where growth usually demands heavy capital, this stands out as a rare achievement.
Category leadership. Under his watch, ZeroB gained the leadership position in water softeners and the No. 2 position in the alkaline water segment in India, making waves in the OTG (On-The-Go) purifier category, which includes resin-based, non-electric water purifiers.Â

The Road Ahead
With ZeroB racing toward the ₹500 crore mark, the mission is far from over.
