Activated Carbon Water Filter

Activated carbon water filter is mostly used for home water treatment. ZeroB offers a wide range of carbon water filters in small and bulk quantity depending on the needs of the clients. These filters generate less noise and ensure longer functional life. ZeroB iron removal filters are manually operated with processed catalytic filtration unit where the raw water passes through the layer of compressed air, treated catalyst & quartz filter media respectively. ZeroB is a pioneer in the water filtering industry and presents an exclusive range of iron removal filters and activated carbon water filters, widely utilized in industrial water treatment, sanitation and other cleaning purposes.

Active carbon has abilities to remove toxins, odor and bad taste from tap water. Activated carbon water filters are small pieces of carbon, in granular or block form, that have been treated to be extremely porous. Activated carbon water filters are very useful in adsorbing (permanently removing) contaminants and other substances.

Carbon water filters have different capabilities in terms of the size of the contaminants they remove. The size ranges from around 50 microns to 0.5 microns.

How does Carbon Water Filters Work

When the water flows through carbon water filters, the chemicals stick to the carbon resulting in purer water output. The effectiveness depends on the flow and temperature of the water. Therefore, smaller active carbon filters should be used with low pressure and cold water.

Activated carbon water filters are usually made of coconut shells, wood or coal and sold as granular activated carbon or carbon blocks.

Carbon water filters are very effective in removing a wide range of chemicals.

Activated carbon is, the only filter recommended to remove all harmful organic contaminants.

Potable (approved for drinking) tap water.

Chlorine is used in disinfecting water from pathogens. Unfortunately, Chlorine may make water tasty but degrades its smell. Carbon water filters are excellent at removing chlorine and it's by products, as well as removing the taste and odor associated with it.

Activated carbon water filters require very little maintenance, but we need to change filters on a regular basis to ensure proper filtration at all times. Some filters fail to remove contaminants as they become worn out in due course of time and it becomes a clear indication for the users that the product has exhausted its service life.

Carbon water filters remove a large number of volatile organic chemicals (VOC), pesticides and herbicides, as well as chlorine, benzene, trihalomethane (THM) compounds, radon, solvents, and hundreds of other human-made chemicals present in tap water.

Some activated carbon water filters are moderately effective at removing some, but not all, heavy metals. Carbon water filters are helpful in removing chloramine and hydrogen sulfide. The densely concentrated carbon water filters mechanically remove particles down to 0.5 microns, including giardia and cryptosporidium, turbidity, and particulates.
